Pressing the Issue

This project addresses the widespread issue of short lifespans for everyday objects and the resulting electrical waste. The focus is on electric kettles and clothing irons, which typically last only 3 to 5 years despite their long history and daily use. The proposal suggests a low-tech hybrid design that utilizes existing heat sources in households. By combining the functionality of heating water and reshaping the kettle to resemble the clothing iron, the design offers two key benefits: keeping the iron side clean and enabling easy pouring of water. This innovative approach aims to promote longevity and reduce waste in consumer products.
