Kroft
For this assignment, I had to design an everyday object for KROFT, a Toronto-based design studio and manufacturer for products in small contemporary spaces. The design challenge was to design an accessory that can be mass-produced and compliments the design language of an existing line of products, incorporating existing components from the Kroft collection. Ultimately resulting in a proposal for Dustin Kroft (Principal and Lead Designer) which included a body of market research, concept development, prototypes, final model, orthographic drawing, spec sheet, and a product strategy. Some of the consideration in the design of the product were creating value in everyday products and designing valuable and viable solutions for Kroft.
Ideations:
Presented 10 refined renderings of well-considered concepts. The concepts vary
Making sure my designs fit the criteria discussed in this brief.
Models:
I created 3 Mock-ups of my best concepts as process models to investigate further of how the consumer is going. Interacted with the project and where would the project would need improvement.
Prototype:
Solidified my design direction with a single refined model in the actual material, full scale. Bringing a concrete plan of how I will make my final prototype.
